One alternative to learn Chinese is by using the internet. There are many online courses; you can find from basic courses to more advanced courses. Many people believe that learning a language through the Internet is too impractical. However, for others it is easier because they wouldn’t have to leave the comfort of their homes and they can learn Chinese while sitting on a sofa and in front of a computer.
To find a good site where you can learn Chinese, it is recommended to use audio lessons because you will not have a teacher that will teach you the correct pronunciation. It is recommended to download these audio lessons, and it is also a good idea to buy a dictionary where you can look up words that you do not know.
Advantages
- You can learn a new language without having to travel and you just need to have a computer and internet access. You can even travel wherever you want and still learn the language.
- You would not have to spend money on books and other expenses to learn Chinese.
- You wouldn’t have to follow a strict schedule; you can learn whenever you have time.

Disadvantages
- You won’t have a teacher that lets you know what kind of pronunciation errors you have or teaches you the correct pronunciation of the words.
- Not all your questions will be answered immediately.
- You would only have to rely on the lesson of the day.
- You cannot interact with your classmates or practice your vocabulary.
